Intel corporation is preparing a family of powerful chips based on the architecture of next generation Many Integrated Core (MIC). It involves pooling the traditional x86-compatible cores with specialized cores to improve the efficiency of parallel computing.
The first commercial products based on the MIC architecture will be the name of Knights Corner; they appear on the market before 2011. Knights Corner will comprise more than 50 cores on one chip and processed at 22-nanometer technology.
